How to buy or commission a furniture design
By visiting this website you are already in progress to achieve your personal design requirements, whether for your home or commercial premises.
You may have already viewed our furniture design gallery and products and decided that one of these would meet your needs or you may require something slightly different or unique for your interior scheme. This is when Kevin is happy to take on your specific design commission to ensure your requirements are met.
The commissioning process although it may seem daunting at first can be extremely enjoyable as you are able if you wish to participate at every stage in the design and production of a beautiful piece of unique, hand crafted furniture that is perfectly tailored for your home or commercial premises.
As customer every care is taken to give you the opportunity to to oversee the development of your commission from initial sketches and ideas right through until completion and delivery, giving you a very different and exciting experience to that of buying from a shop or gallery.
Initially you will discuss your ideas with Kevin to consider what it is that you want to achieve and to help him understand you and your requirements. From these initial discussions Kevin will produce a series of concept sketches for you to consider and choose between. These initial idea sketches are produced at no cost to you to help you on your commissioning adventure.
If an agreement of direction can then be decided upon a further set of designs will then be developed with your input to refine the designs, ideally using cad rendered images to give a more focussed idea of a final piece that you are completely happy with. These images can often include representastions of your existing interior layout and scheme to give you an even better idea of how the new piece will fit in.

Following this Kevin will produce a final design including details of deposits, final costings and lead times to ensure that you understand and are happy with the work that will be undertaken before going ahead with your project. After receiving your final approval, materials will be selected specifically for your piece and allowed to acclimatise in the workshop if needed. The making process can then begin and your furniture will begin to take shape.
Sometimes we may source help from one of our expert partners such as
E W Crowther and Sons upholsterers to ensure you get only the best quality work for your chosen design.
Kevin will be happy to keep you updated on progress with photographs of the ongoing project if you require. Once finished, your piece will be delivered, proffessionally installed if necessary and the project can be discussed with you and advise given on aftercare of your chosen furniture design.
In the unlikely event of you having any problems, Kevin will be happy to do what he can to remedy them and ensure that you are completely happy with your commission for many years to come.
Remember initial enquiries and design sketch ideas are at no cost to you.....so what are you waiting for?
